Coaches
Don Moriarity returns for his second season at ECR. Don brings a lot
of experience having coached at many different levels of the game. A
graduate of Pepperdine University, Don coached under the great Rod
Dedeaux at USC. Coach Moriarity later became the president of West
Hills Pony Baseball. Don has also coached at Montclair Prep, and at
Calabasas High School. Coach Moriarity will concentrate on working
with the Varsity outfielders and hitters.
ECR welcomes back Hill Kerby (Class of 2007) who will work primarily with the Frosh-Soph team.

Jon Beckerman returns for his second year as Head Junior Varsity Coach. Coach Beckerman attended University High School where he played baseball for Coach Frank Cruz (current baseball coach at Loyola Marymount University) and graduated in 1986. Coach Beckerman graduated California State University Northridge in 1992 with both a bachelor’s degree and teaching credential. In 2002, Jon also obtained his Master's Degree in Education Administration.
Coach Beckerman was Head Varsity Baseball Coach at University High School from 1992 thru 2001. His teams won the Western League Championships in 1994, 1995 and 2000. His overall record of 162-98 ranks among the highest winning percentage at the school. His teams made the playoffs every year except 1998 including a semi final appearance in 2000, and quarterfinal appearance in 1997. Ironically in 1997 eventual city champion El Camino Real High School knocked off his team that year.
In his first year as Junior Varsity Coach and a 21-7 won loss record, Jon helped the team capture the 2008 West Valley League Championship.
He has been at ECR since 2003 as member of the faculty, teaching Life Skills, Health, and A.V.I.D.

Sean McElroy enters his second year as part of the coaching staff at El Camino Real High School. Sean will be an Assistant Varsity Coach for the 2008 season. Coach McElroy will concentrate on the development of the hitters on both the J.V. and Varsity teams.
Coach McElroy is an ECR alumni, graduating in 2000. He played from 1997 to 2000 under both Coach Mike Maio and Coach Bob Gannsle. The Conquistadors won two City Championships during Sean’s four years at ECR. Coach McElroy was an All West Valley League selection in 1999 and in 2000 and was selected to the All City Team in 2000. McElroy finished off a great high school career by earning MVP honors of the 2000 Bernie Milligan game.
